6.5L Turbo Diesel Suburban Wide Open Acceleration

This is a video of my 96 6.5L Suburban accelerating full throttle. It has 238,000 miles and has 3.42 gears. In the back was a generator attached an 11hp honda engine, a 13hp honda engine with a power washer pump attached to it, two 80# bags of quickcrete, 100 feet of hose, a bunch of tools, some gas cans with gas in them and some other odds and ends. Needless to say this was one heavy package. Was on a small hill also. Slow, but not bad all things considered. All original. Needs exhaust and injectors bad! Boosting 8.5 PSI. I have a video showing the boost also. Sorry for the quality of the videos, I had to use my older model razr phone to shoot the videos. I'll clean all the stuff out of the back and get a better video on flat ground when i get a chance.

@canttouchmymopar Never said it was fast. Not bad for a 14 year old 7,000+ pound chunk of steel rolling down the road up a hill with weight in the back and a quarter million miles on the clock. Lets see your "mopar" do that. The way dodges are, you're lucky to make a quarter of ONE mile before breaking down.

@torque395 i would hope you'd have more mileage... most diesels do. I like chevy's too but i'm sure the Dodge cummins would outlast any chevrolet 6.5.

@torque395 wtf? my uncle dodges has almost 500K and it has the original tranny and engine. Just the usual requirments were changed so I don't know whose dodge you know of that needs worked on everyday. you're dreaming.

@1997DodgeRam360 My truck is 2wd so YES its IFS. And my trucks already seen more mileage than you pos dodge ever will lol. My truck still has original wheel bearings and rear brakes for christ sake. Its a GOOD truck. Doesnt need worked on ever day like a damn dodge.

@wayne2ooo8 No. I know it isnt fast. My C-10 pickup with 454 and 4.10s is alot quicker. It also uses an assload more fuel and I dont know if it would pull as good as this will. Its a tossup. This engine has 10 ft lb more torque than the 454 but it is in a heavier truck with higher gearing. However this engine makes its power at a lower RPM and through a wider driving range.
