Bulleid Pacifics: 34070 Manston, 34067 Tangmere and 34028 Eddystone operating on the Swanage Railway.

The main event saw the two unrebuilt Battle of Britains Manston and Tangmere double heading a return trip from Swanage.

  • I love the streamlined appearance of Bulleid's Pacific. As I see they do not have chain-belt gear of the original design.

  • @chronius9 All the unrebuilts do still have the chain driven valve gear of the original design and the rebuilts with walschaerts.

  • It's not often you see film making of this quality. Did you use a tripod/ Loved the shot of Corfe Castle.

  • @charlemagne762 Thats very nice of you to say thanks! Yeah I try my best to use a tripod where ever possible. Watch this space, I have videos from 2010 that need uploading and plenty of Swanage...

  • Can anyone tell me what the white markers on the front of the engines means???

  • @shayno11 Headcodes, differnt combinations meaning differnt routes and destinations. All adds to the authenticity!

  • @shayno11 cant remember offhand something to do with the type of run ie express passenger or special its the daylight equivelant to lamps which were carried in the same configuration at night time so the signal operators could identify the type of train approaching hope this is of some help i am not explaining myself very well tried looking it up in one of my books but cant find it at present time

  • Fancy drowning out the sounds of the trains with music
