Flight #8 of the Masten Space Systems XA-0.1B-750 test rocket vehicle. The flight was 60 seconds to test navigation and expand the flight time. The overall performance was very encouraging. The team is excited about the progress we have been achieving and the rate at which improvements have been working. Subscribe and you will be notified each time more video is added.

  • Very nice, guys. Are those movements a pre-programmed pattern or controlled "live"?

  • The flight was pre-programmed patterns. We will get to live control later in the development. Right now we need to be able to compare translations as accurately as possible to commands. We have been joking about an iPhone control app to control the vehicle by tilting an iPhone. It's quite possible, but we are way too busy right now for that amount of fun.

  • whats this for?

  • Ya tell Ben!!!!!! You don't know no Ben!!!!!!!!

  • It stayed mostly over the pad, which helps. I think it rained a couple weeks before this flight. It rained on us again as we were moving the vehicle back to the shop.

  • rocket science rules.

  • Nice work guys! I am very impressed. Tell Ben to keep up the awesome work.

  • there was way less dust in the video than usual. does that have something to do with the rain clouds in the back ground?

  • Thanks, Iain.

  • That would be so epic. Imagine the PR of landing on the moon controlling the descent with an iPhone with 1 hand. hahaha

  • DM, you should have said we were running on fumes and just burning off the tanks for the day and fessed up tomorrow. Oh, and maybe that we had added 50kg of payload. :) Get flying Paul(s). I'd like to go out to FAR and see your craft in the air.
