  • Its still embarrassing for it to take sooo long for any help to get to the driver. Look at Indy car, most of the time they are there within 20 seconds of a bad crash. Sometimes rolling up to the crash even before the race car has stopped moving. F1 can do much better then this example.

  • @NOXXism Senna would not have got out and retired, if it was practice or quali he probably would've but not in the race

  • @NOXXism I meant your comment about Senna stopping for people, and others not.

He stopped for people, but it was only REALLY needed when the fuel tanks weren't as good as they are now. If the driver was out cold, then whoever was closest should help get the driver out asap as fire was a major risk. Not now though. Can't remember the last time I saw an F1 car on fire due to the fuel tank. Other than that, and F1 driver can't really help much. The medics here should have been far quicker though

  • @grandmasterj5 well, fire isn't the only danger in F1... Look at barrichelo in imola 94 or hakkinen adelaide 95. If they weren't assisted so fast they probably would have died, because they both swallowed their tongues. But yes this corner is particularly dangerous.

  • @NOXXism You're getting loads of replies on this comment, so here's another. People are saying about rules etc, but it's also down to the fact that, drivers don't pay to much attention to the dangers of F1. They know it's there of course, but they shut it out, and a big crash is one of those reminders. Another reason, cars are less likely to catch fire now, so less need to get the driver out, so it's better to leave it to the medical staff who are more trained to deal with him than an F1 driver.

  • @NOXXism becouse you are not suposed to hold on an racing track. i know its hard i if i would be in this situation i would although think about stopping and help him but the cars are flying with over 180mph'S by it would be too dangerous...

  • @NOXXism

.... not only do they endanger their own lives. But they endanger other drivers. There is a time for sportsmanship, this isn't that time.

  • @NOXXism

Well maybe if F1 implemented reg flags and stopped using that stupid local / full course caution bullshit than drivers might fair better. If a driver crashes in a blind spot, or in a certain location that is not easily visible to other drivers the race should be stopped. You can only tell the drivers so much via radio, what they see is vital. With that said he's safer inside of his car. And it would be stupid if another driver stopped in that location to help him.

  • @garf1eld029 Right. Let him die then. I saw a lot of cars going past at full throttle. So fast they almost tossed that williams into the wall..

  • @NOXXism so true thats 1 of the thing that made senna as great as he was

  • @NOXXism

Ah yes, brilliant idea! Get out of your car in the middle of a blind corner where other cars will be coming around it at full throttle. Yep ... what could go wrong?

    -------

There is a fine line between sportsmanship, and stupidity. Stopping to help someone when EVERYONE can see where you are is fine. Stopping to help someone where everyone CAN'T is stupid.

  • @600etecXRS

I'm not sure about the third one, but he did it in 2004 with the Williams and in 2005 with the Toyota

  • @NOXXism I don't think anyone would have stopped because of the risk of being hit by other cars!!!

  • he crashed at that track 3 times in 3 years?

  • a YELLOW HELMET .. NOT MOVING in a BLUE WHITE WILLIAMS in a WALL and no EMERGENCY arriving ...................... u know 1.may 1994

  • @Saikano2012 Eating burgers

  • @Saikano2012 I think it was mainly a problem at this track because of the fast, blind, last corner.

  • @ididi9 NASCAR does it, IndyCar does it, Formula Nippon....well, not sure about them, so FIA should too. The red flag does exist ya know.

  • @Saikano2012 Stupid FIA say the Medical cars can't drive backwards down the straight so have to do the lap

  • @NOXXism They do but its forbidden now, Its in the FIA rule book, If they did it they would recieve a racing ban and grid penalties.

  • @rainbowroadds The had PLENTY of time to throw the yellow flag, flash those yellow lights, radio to all drivers to stop or slow down, and get on the track. This is disgusting.

  • @Saikano2012 in their defence, it was in the middle of a 200mph straight with cars driving by.

  • @NOXXism its not allowed

  • @NOXXism You're right, but there was an interview after this (Michael Schumacher was there, too). Michael wanted to stop for his brother and he was really in shock when he saw this, but sadly, F1 is a money-controlled buisines, which doesn't allowed him to do so! ;)

  • @NOXXism

what shall they do? They are no doctors, so it´s senseless to park your car. On todays tracks the help is very fast, not like in the old days, where on some points of the track there was no Tv cam, no marshall... (Nordschleife, Lauda crash)
