this video was created by: PhilMark on July 4th 2009 in Ngerbeched, Koror.. out of all palauan Ngasech (childbirth ceremony) in the Republic of Palau, this is different from the others were she walks backwards to the crowd of people. which is a custom to the people of Ngerbeched ...the birth of a child is always regarded as a joyous event celebrated by parents and families alike..Palau is thee only islands in micronesia that celebrates this event.. this celebration starts off with a ritualistic introductions and dances, then it turns into an extended dance party with live vibrant music and an abundance of food and drinks enough to feed an army..seriously Lol!~with a feast lasting for hours .. so remember if your planning a trip to palau..ask your instructor or tour agent about "palauan hotbath" and sample the rich tradtions of the islands...
