I gotta be honest, I have a soft spot for a lot of emo bands, especially Dashboard Confessional, but I have a hard time getting past the nasal, out-of-range singing most of them have. Michael Stipe, despite mumbling most of REM's early stuff, actually annunciates well and has a deep, textured voice that really suits this song. Makes me wonder if emo music would have a better reputation if the bands singers were better.

~sigh. I remember when MTV was an honest to god place for music videos and music related programming. Not Viva La Bam and crappy movies from the 90's. I remember being really annoyed that I missed the first 4 or 5 airings of this broadcast

Great song. I wish there was an all-Michael version out there. His voice is the best. The way he finishes the song. Amazing!

This is fantastic, I wish the song was recorded with Michael Stipe
