Battlefield 3 Javelin Failplay

After unlocking the Javelin launcher in Battlefield 3 I tried destroying something but on small maps it is most certainly a piece of sh*t! :)

Why does my javelin never disable anything on the first rocket like it's supposed to? Is there a trick to making it go up or something? I don't get it...

@iPodTouchAngel Well it will never one hit a tank unfortunately, but there are several ways to increase the usefullness and damage of the damn thing. When you are on your own try to get a lock on and then right before you shoot aim towards the sky, this will make it launch straight up and hit the target from above, which increases the damage. When there is a secundairy lock available by either a SOFLAM or something else the missile always launches straight up for a top down attack.

@GeneralChurch You only get repair points when a team member is actually in the vehicle at that moment, plus when a squad member is in the vehicle you get double the points so thats 20 points per repair which accumulates pretty quick. :)

for some reason I never get points for repairs! its retarded but I do shoot down aircraft and just go to town with my maxed out scar-h

@GeneralChurch you need 82,000 XP in the engineer class to unlock the Javelin. It's not that hard to get it, the fastest way would probably be by repairing as much as you can. Atleast thats the way I gained my Engineer points :)

how do you unlock the javelin? how long does it take to get to it? im just curious.
