This is the third video of a 6 video series showing you how to brew a Java Stout from the Midwest Supplies Peace Java Stout kit. In this video, we take a hydrometer reading to determine the starting gravity, pitch the yeast, and install the airlock into the primary fermenter. We then jump ahead through space and time, 5 days into the future, right after the primary fermentation has completed it's most vigorous fermentation. We then grind and brew the coffee beans that came with the kit in a French Press and get it ready to put into the secondary fermenter.

  • Joe ive watched 100's of brewing vids and I have to say you and craigtube are the best on here.Very detailed, and very informative.Id like to steal your sanitizing tray where did you get that and what exactly is it? Cheers!

  • @ryanlovesguns Thank you very much!!! It's awesome to hear comments like this--they really make my day. The tray is actually a wallpaper tray--you can get them for just a couple bucks at most hardware stores and paint/wallpaper supply stores. They're worth their weight in gold--I couldn't brew without one now. Thank you again, and Cheers!

  • Seriously dude, with your rock star hairdo, and you're "hell ya" personality, you're like the Willy Wonka of home brew!

  • @terpsichoreankid thnks for ur support and smoke beer?

  • @LittleTurtleTV I've heard of nettle beers but have never made or tried one before. They seem to me to be in the same specialty categories as smoke beers and the like--very distinct flavor profiles. If I ever get the chance, I'll let you know!

  • @terpsichoreankid ive made a nettle beer with pale spray malt, nettles and lemons any sirjestions lol i cant spell on how to make it even nicer
