  • the reason for this is simple, the ice usually is below freezing temperature, so when you add your nonalcoholic ingredients first, they freeze a little bit and that takes away flavour, especially from freshly squeezed fruit juice, the spirits on the other hand dont and "warm" the shaker a little bit up and the fruit juice once mixed with alcohol doesnt freeze anymore.

  • Every bartender I know (myself included) adds the ice last. Why run the risk of your ice melting and filling your drink with water? You're doing it wrong. There is no logical reason what so ever for adding the ice first.

  • when is the doritos consomme added to the mixed drink?

  • @DubsMood Well I have. Although detecting irony in text is difficult. Especially with the large amounts of morons who have access to computers.

  • @metalebd never heard of irony before, did you ??

  • @DubsMood What that when you put something warmer than 0C on ice it melts the ice? Yeah it's scientifically 'prooved' (sic)

  • @metalebd is this scientifically prooved ??

  • @TheSpearsProductions I didn't love it.

  • Keep clicking 0:27. You will love it.

  • @ocarpo maybe the dilution process adds extra volume to the drinks at the expense of flavor. This doesn't seem too far off the concept of using cheater pints with beer, so you could use slightly less of your ingredients while maintaining the illusion of a full martini glass.

  • in america they ad ice first, dont know why, dont ask me. i dont know why americans do alot of things. in the rest of the world he add the ice last to minimise dilution in shaken drinks
