I have long, fine, straight hair, and I have never been able to keep it in any sort of bun without copious amounts of hairpins and spray. I hate hairspray, it's gross. But when I tried this style, my hair actually stayed up, all day, and looked good--with only one hair stick. No spray, no pins.
Thank you. Seriously, after 20 years of struggling with up-dos, you have no idea how much this means to me. Melodramatic, but oh so true.

Damn, my hair is just a few inches too short to do this. Maybe I'll be able to do it in six months. Definitely keeping this in mind, I just love the bun and the simplicity of it.

@4ypn0tica Yup... I saw you do it but when I tried, mine felt too tight. I tried it again since, and it worked! I posted a picture of it on LHC. This is one of the most secure buns I've tried, and it does look intricate!
