A skylark singing above the Kinpurnie Hill, Angus, Scotland. The male skylarks arrive in early spring, ahead of the females, to establish their territory. The skylark ascends high in the sky as it sings its energetic and cheerful song.

  • G'DAY MATE ..... I'm pretty sure we got one of these in Lincolnshire.

I thought I heard it today among the hops and barley while I was out with Sheila.

    GOOD CALL!

  • BEAUTIFUL SONG.

  • verry nice ,i love that sound.

  • Thanks - you've helped me identify the two I saw. Sounds like a cartoon character!

  • i heard two, of what i believe to be sklarks flying overhead singing completely in sync ....singing together the exact same songs....hundreds , thousands of these variations...amazing. one of them must have been following the other sing but with nano/milli second response.

  • thank you thank you...couldn't listen to song at Cornell site and am reading Kenn Kaufman's account of hearing a skylark and was so curious. i appreciate your video.

  • Thanks for posting this, I heard my first skylark of the year today and I wanted to share the wonder of it with other people.

  • I'm from Denmark, and my sister's name is Lærke, which means skylark in Danish.
