Steven Dimmick from the SF Guitar Society plays the same piece of music on an Esteso and then a Clark Guitar. In 1999 Eugene had a chance to look closely at this very Esteso guitar and made measurements of it. The guitar belonged to Steve. Eugene was very impressed with the guitar and when I commissioned a guitar from him (getting him out of retirement to build a classical guitar again after laying off of building for over 15 years), he patterned his guitar after the Esteso. When the guitar was done Eugene told me that it was his version of an Esteso with a "V8,." in other words power.
Here Steve plays both guitars.

  • Dear TimH, Thank you very much for bringing us videos of some great sounding guitars. I would love to see and hear a long and large video study of the world's great guitars with a standard format of sound and video so that guitar lovers could learn what a great guitar should look and sound like. As of now it is often hard to compare because of different recording conditions etc. Keep up the very good work ron1772
