This is the ONLY glass cutting method that cuts bottles perfect every time. A flaming string is not good. A blow torch is a BAD IDEA. Glass hammer will not work well.

I talked to a few people who have cut 1000's of bottles, they say "you cannot get a perfect cut, top will always be ruined" Not true. Perfect bottle cutting 95% of the time.

Well you put pressure but also put your hand over the opening, it's like blocking one end of a straw, the other end won't leak out. Though, it does demonstrate how smooth the surface is.

This is exactly what I was looking to do. Fortunately, this was also the first video tutorial I watched. Every other method pales in comparison!!!

It's holding water because of vacume, not because the "cut is perfect"....

I have yet to cut my first. i shall fix a scoring jig first, and rely on my reliable laziness to make it easy.

The thought of doing this has never crossed my mind before. I now have a good handful of useful projects to get started on! Thanks man!

I wondered about hot tap water too. Have you tried it?

Yeah, I did, but I'm a disabled combat vet. Things that go BANG! without notice will make me jump every time.

This demo is the business - I wasted a lot of time on tedious amateur vids. Can i get you to do something? Show the rubbish, list the mistakes quickly. Stress the light and even cut. Stress heating the score locally. Would hot water from the tap work? People will love you for a short, confident demo. Don't be offended! Bob

After watching this video I literally got up and made myself glass bottle cutter. (already had the pen type glass cutter, and cutting it free hand was imperfect) I then made a wooden mount for it. Now i can cut glass perfectly yay!

Did anyone else jump when the top of the bottle fell off in the demonstration?
