Celebrating Differences

Song Written by Amar Sharma-This Video features children from The Shri Ram School-an Inclusive School in Delhi. The song urges people to celebrate Differences, be it in terms of Ideas, Abilities,Appearances, Perspectives, Cultures etc. It advocates an Open Arms approach towards building a pluralistic & tolerant society. The song has been used in a documentary film advocating INCLUSIVE EDUCATION, i.e. educating children with Special Needs, (viz. those with conditions like ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Learning Disabilities, Physical Disabilities etc.) in the same classroom as others and meet their individual specific needs right there...No separate schools, classrooms or labels please. The society at large does not understand these people and hence fails to appreciate their strengths, talents & qualities as human beings & productive members of the society. Moreover, with media & market generated notions of `NORMAL PEOPLE', we are obsessed with what I would call STEREOTYPES and just don't know how to relate to people not conforming to these cliched notions. The song reiterates the fact that for us to grow as humans, we must get rid of these prejudices...hold hands and walk together.

NOTE: The video was shot in little over 30 minutes, just 3 days before the film had to be screened at a National Conference on Inclusive Education Hence, none of the students got time to rehearse the song.

"Celebrating diversity" simply means that White people are supposed to cheer for their own demographic displacement. "We Whites will be a minority soon! Yippeee! We Whites will be ruled by non-whites! Yippee!" We Whites will be soon be outnumbered and surrounded by blacks and browns and yellows! Yippee!"
