  • Wouldn't mind meeting him.

  • Gene Wilder...pure genius, and seems such a sincere and genuine fellow. Yes, he is THE WILLY WONKA. Depp did good, but no, doesn't hold a candle to Mr. Wilder's performance. I would have to say my favorite role Gene played was Rabbi Avram Belinski in "The Frisco Kid" with Harrison Ford. He SMOKED that roll.

  • @jinnai702 Yes yes yes. Gene's performance as Willy Wonka is quite outstanding, and so is the film.

  • Gene is very special to me. Love this man!

  • What bothers me most about Mr Wilder's career is that there's never been a film that was just about him, something that gives him a part utilizing his talents, humor and outlook on life?.

I can easily see a film about elderly man who is an Alzheimer's patient or someone who has dementia trying to cope with his family & the humorous experience's?

I don't know...He might take that the wrong way but...

I think the world needs him to make another film

  • This man is real. Most of new Hollywood have no talent, but technology to carry their weak performances.

  • Ah, to see a man who has truly lived life. Such pain, such experience. Living out his twilight years writing about his life, and the lives of his characters. Very in touch with himself. I feel he can impart a great deal of wisdom to us all.

  • I came here to watch a Gene Wilder interview, but ended up becoming totally blown away by the wonderful guy interviewing him! Best interviewer EVER! Soft spoken, simple questions, and then immediately backing off to let Gene actually speak, doesn't rush or interrupt or "finish his sentences". Ernie you ROCK! Thank you for hosting an amazing interview!

  • @310sucks thats very true and depp is an all time great and he cant fuck with that awesome performance by mr wilder...
