IF WIC was true, the Soviets didnt' believe that could launch their ICBM fleet without losing most of it to the US-SDI system, which is why the Russians were pushing so hard for Ft. Teller, the Supposed Home of the Strategic Defense Initiative ground control center.

@Demon5I7 No they may have the man power, but you gotta remember. ALL of western Europe + America = Russia out gunned, and even with all those countries the manpower would equal Russia's. Yes Russia is HUGE but so is Western Europe, there is no way they could have won, the deck is stacked against them.
