These fantastic Locomtives are testament to "British Industry" each of these Engines
ran over 9 Million Miles in thirty years.Their reputation for not breaking down was
legendary,they flattened Shap and Beatock hauling 12 to 13 to 14 Coach loads without losing more than 5mph in speed.I have seen one run to Glasgow to Euston
three times in one 24 hour cycle,then it turned up again and did the same!!!.They
are much favoured over the more modern class 90s say no more.
I liked the class 87s there are one of my favourte electric locomotives.

@albaniaismylife the Liverpool Street to Shenfield trains were class 86s, although very similiar to these they are not exactly the same
