In this lesson, Eileen Keipper, a certified sports psychologist who specializes in equestrian sports, discusses communication and positive reinforcement. She gives an overview of the topic and leads a volunteer through exercises that illustrate the clear benefits of using positive reinforcement. Her exercises and explanations demonstrate the various areas of horsemanship, including riding, where positive reinforcement can be used. In addition to Eileen's explanation of the concept and theory behind positive reinforcement, the lesson contains examples with both a human volunteer and with horses. Her lesson helps riders understand how to put into practice a very useful and effective strategy in working with their equine partners.

This short lesson is divided into three parts for ease of viewing.
