you two below me have no idea what a dog show is. its to evaluate breeding stock so that we breed the best dogs possible. every breed has a breed standard so that they can perform their job to the best of their ability. and that job is what they were bred for. for example, setters' should have balanced front and rear angles giving them effortless gait so that they may work in the field all day setting and flushing birds without getting tired out. there is more to a dog show than what you think.
