Together Forever Chapter 8 Part 2

Little did Andee and Nick know, Candie was outside the door listening to the entire conversation take place. She thought about her poor sister and how she might have diabetes. The one thing she remembered about her birth parents were that they were both diabetics. It ran in the family. Candie knew she had to tell Denise. She walked into the kitchen where Denise was busily trying to make a quick lunch.
"Mom, I need to talk to you..." Candie trailed.
"What is it sweetie?" Denise asked.
"Its Andee. I heard Nick and her talking, and Nick thinks she has diabetes, but she won't tell me or you. We have to get her to a doctor," Candie stated.
"I've already made her an appointment because she didn't seem well this morning. We can take her this afternoon they said," Denise explained.
"Alright. I'll tell her that we're going shopping," Candie suggested.
."Sounds good. If she isn't admitted to the hospital, then we can actually so shopping afterwards," Denise stated.
"Alright. I'll go tell her," Candie said. She walked to the bunking area where Andee was resting. "Hey Andee, mom, you and I are going shopping this afternoon and there is no backing out," Candie demanded.
"Why?" Andee asked with her back turned towards Candie.
"Mom said we could use some new clothes for tour, so we're all going shopping this afternoon," Candie stated.
"Fine," Andee replied. She thought for a minute, then bolted up. "No. No, no, no, no, a thousand times NO," Andee said quickly. She knew what was going on.
"You have to. You don't have a choice anymore. Do you have any idea how serious this could be Andrea? We have a strong history of Diabetes in this family and you have shown all the symptoms. Please get looked at for me Andee. Please...I can't lose you," Candie spoke softly, tears welling in her hazel eyes.
"Well....," Andee said, sighing. She knew she wasn't going to win this, especially when their mother was on Candie's side...and Nick. "Fine," she finally said.
"Yes! Thank you so much Andee!" Candie exclaimed, hugging her sister. "So are you feeling alright now. You seemed to be feeling really ill during the night. You woke me with all the groaning and I was getting worried you had the flu. That's what your symptoms seemed like!"
"I'm fine, honest," she said, laying back down. Andee was starting to get sick of hearing that question constantly.
"Alright sis. You get some rest, and I'll be back when it's time to leave," Candie decided to leave her sister alone because she could feel the aggravation Andee was sending off.
Andee nodded and went to sleep. When she woke up, she had to get ready to go. The whole time she was getting ready she was shaking from fear.
"Relax Andee. You'll be fine. Nick and I will be there the whole time right next to you," Candie soothed.
"Yeah Andee. I went through all of this before. It's really not that bad," Nick comforted.
"You ready to go?" Denise asked.
"Yeah!" Candie shouted. "Come on Andee."
"Good luck!" Joe joking said, but it only freaked out Andee more.
They all got in the car, Andee sitting in the back seat in between Candie and Nick.
"Nervous?" Nick asked Andee.
"Nah, I'm ecstatic!" she said sarcastically.
" Psh. No need fro sarcasm here Andee!" Nick joked. "Plus I can feel you shaking."
"Yeah...so can I!" Candie exclaimed,
"Okay, I am. Not even nervous, scared to death. I had rather go out on stage and sing!" she said. She yawned.
"Woah! Then you really are nervous...or you just have a secret love for performing in front of people that you've been hiding from us all this time..." Nick joked.
"Andee, just relax. Everything will be fine. I just want you to get some sleep right now. You look so exhausted!" Candie exclaimed.
"Yeah the one good thing about being sick on the road...you catch up on sleep," Nick sighed. "I need to get sick more often!" Nick yawned.
"Joe and Kevin would kill you! How about you take a nap now also!" Candie suggested. Was she the only one that could operate on four hours of sleep per night? She could stay awake with one hour of sleep as long as there was coffee the next morning!
"But I'm not tired," Andee stated. A second later, she yawned again. "Fine, I'll get some sleep," she said. She laid her head on Nick's shoulder and instantly fell asleep.
"So she decides to sleep on my shoulder?" Nick complained.
"Shut up! You'll wake her up!" Candie demanded, staring at her pail, thin sister.
"Fine..." Nick sighed.
"What did I just say about talking?" Candie snapped, now whispering.
Nick made a zipper motion across his lips then rolled his eyes. The rest of the car ride was silent except for occasional snores from poor Andee.
