Doris Rodriguez got laid-off after 23 years with no severance or notice from Spansion -- the largest producer of Flash memory cards. Her and her co-workers took pay cuts, went on work furloughs, all to avoid mass lay-offs. But even as the company was giving pay raises to executives, they laid-off 3,000 employees, 615 in Sunnyvale, California. Rodriguez and other former Spansion employees have filed a suit against the company in federal court for violation of the WARN Act, which mandates 60 days notices before lay-offs.
@ripperduck Look, believe or not I do know what I'm talking about.
Unions are corrupt, the government is VERY corrupt, and the reason they are corrupt is that the populace allows them to be corrupt.
You see, they spend 40 hours a week watching television instead of spending an hour a week doing a little bit of oversight. Nobody is policing the organizations, just like you, they think somebody else will do it, but nobody does.
You want a cure? Then you better start finding a solution.

@fuzzywzhe Get fucked. You have no idea what the hell you're talkin about...

@ripperduck "Are you a fucking idiot? They wanted to get ripped off? "
I didn't say they wanted to.
I said they did, and they will continue to get ripped off because instead of doing something about it themselves, they expect a corrupt organization to suddenly and magically become not corrupt "because they paid for it".
I told you, I'm sick of this conversation. You're an idiot, and it's a waste of my time to try to explain to you that the government and unions are not a mommy or daddy.

@fuzzywzhe Are you a fucking idiot? They wanted to get ripped off? And who gives a fuck? I'll let whoever else is reading this to try to figure out the depths of stupidity which your post explores.

@ripperduck "These people paid taxes, they probably served in the Armed forces and they worked jobs pricks"
Who gives a fuck??
So, they got ripped off. In 2006 the Democrats were elected to congress to end the Patriot Act, stop the wars, end warrantless wiretapping, and stop crony capitalism.
In 2008, they elected a Democratic president to do the same.
Well, they got ripped off and they are going to be CONTINUED to be ripped off because they can't distinguish between promises and reality.

@fuzzywzhe Hey fuck you ahole. These people paid taxes, they probably served in the Armed forces and they worked jobs pricks like you wouldn't dream of doing but want done anyway. When they demand somethng from what they paid into they're told by garbage like you that they are fat lazy slobs. And then a shit like you tells them they demand too much from gov when trash like you is using the Internet, a computer and energy that all come from the same gov. only underscores you're shit.

@ripperduck You know, fuck it. I'm tired of discussing this with you.
If you want to change the world, and waste your life trying to save fat stupid slobs who are too fucking lazy to do anything at all about their situation, and want some agency, government, or union to help them, when in reality they just take advantage of them - go right ahead.
It will never work but by all means, keep believing it will, because I just don't fucking care what happens to people like you.

@fuzzywzhe What the hell are you talking about? Any sentinent person who had a clue as to what NAFTA/GATT would do realized that it was destructive. Your spouting bullshit if only someone who was working what you think was a crappy job understood that. And fuck your bullshit about unions, their level of corruption doesn't come close to the malfeasance of corps. Unions at their peak amounted to about 38% of private industry workers in 75. Now its 7%. Unions collapsed because the industries fell.

@ripperduck "Well I did resist but most didn't. Given that unions have been neutered"
First of all, if you resisted, and didn't work for a scummy company, what can be your complaint?
Second of all, unions have been neutered because they either are corrupt, or they are so greedy they collapse a business, or both.
I don't care if people let their lives go to hell. It's their choice. Try trying to save morons from their stupidity. All they do is drag you down.
fuzzywzhe 1 year ago
@fuzzywzhe Well I did resist but most didn't. Given that unions have been neutered there has been little organized resistance to the destruction of democracy, even if unions weren't close to the best examples of democracy.
