Michel Legrand & Andrée Lachapelle - Les Parapluies de Cherbourg

France et Québec 1966. Le fabuleux Michel Legrand interprète sa propre composition destinée au film du même titre de 1964. Il est en compagnie de la comédienne Andrée Lachapelle qui a enregistré relativement souvent, même si elle est peu connue comme chanteuse.

Thanks for offering this rare treat! Michel Legrand is one of the most gifted, yet humble, weavers of extravagantly beautiful melodies ever! It is a pleasure to see and hear him sing this. However, one part seemed actually comical - when he jumped up from the piano bench and appeared to pounce on the female vocalist. Then the strange expressions that appeared on her face when she faced the camera as he was hugging her: I had to laugh!
