@RobertBrtka It is a Japanese martial art, but it is modern, created in the 1960s by Dr. Seiken Shukumine. His thinking was that Taido answers the deficiency in other forms in that Taido is 3-dimensional in its movements, whereas other forms tend to be 2- dimensional. I studied it for several years as a child. It is truly a "martial art" in that it is more concerned with the development of the whole person than it is with street fighting or self-defense.
