I am playing "My Own Home" from Disney's classic "The Jungle Book" on a 1929 RCA Theremin at The American Museum of Radio and Electricity in Bellingham, Washington.

Enjoy! :)

  • This has to be one of my most favorite Disney songs ever. It was so great to finally meet you in person. Hopefully you'll come back up soon and we can film some more cool stuff once we get the Etherwave kit assembled. Maybe a duet perhaps?

  • Definitely! Just let me know when it's built.

  • I saw HumanisticRationale's video, then this. Man, I want a go at it! I've never played an RCA before.

  • I got to meet him while I was up there. I even got a few songs out of him for the video. I've gotta edit it all together though. He said they were going to build Etherwave kit for the museum to contrast now & then. The volume is terribly slow and the low notes growl, but it is a great joy to play. :)

Let me know if/when you decide to come up, since I can't make it down to EMuFest.

  • will do for sure. Any luck with getting the EPro? Am I going to have to beat someone with a stick to get one for you?

  • My apartment is renovating next month and have decided to up the rent a few hundred a month. it might be a ways off before I can afford one...but if you find one, I will MAKE it happen!

  • Forgot to sign...am Reid Welch. Thanks for the nice work, btw.

  • It's a very sweet job. One can make an RCA "quick acting" in volume by adding a bias battery to the volume control circuit. I forget just how I did that, but I seem to recall biasing the cathode of...the 120 tube. Peter Pringle would know the exact details, as I gave him the circuit and he put it to his Hoffman theremin with good results.

  • Wow - fantastic. Love the Theremin.

  • i'm gonna call you "cicciò"

  • Excellent! Thanks for sharing this. It's been quite a few years since I visited that area of the US, but if I ever head in that direction again I'll be sure to look this place up; it's great that the museum allows visitors to play such a valuable old instrument!

  • Carport888! You lucky person, you! I so want to play that RCA. You did a great job on it.

    Keep it up!
