@Kreloar It's a dialect thing. He is from Bergen, which is one of the places it first emerged in Norway (due to international trade by ships, I suppose). It is mostly found in southern and western parts of Norway and probably came from, as you note, Denmark (which in turn was influenced by France and Germany).
