And I am talking about LSX 346" motors in general. Not even the Forced Induction/Nitrous motors move that quick. The ONLY car faster than the one in this video, is owned by Joe Hunneycut. His car went 8.69 @ 156 mph. His car is also a six speed.

@ManyZanbuye Um…nobodies ever told you that in a 1/4 mile race a car does most of its acceleration during the first 1/8 mile? A car with a higher mph and relatively higher (slower) et is a indication of a peaky(er) power band, like a high strung 4cly for example. This SS has run a best of 8.58 @ 157mph. Notice a slightly lower et and mph compared with your Evo. And we're talking a 3 mph difference here so how does the mph suck?

And bwt in drag racing its about et, not mph.

i was at pinks all out this weekend in houston a see all thesee muscle cars looking like 8-9 secs cars and then they run 10 secs and the MPH not even 130mph, this civic showed up and boom looking like a reg street car and ran 10.32@149mph!! highest MPH of the 9 sec and 10 sec class

i love top end racing and racing on the street and thats where the imports shine!!

what i hate about these cars is that you see great times but the MPH suck, 8.75@153???? lol We ran in our Evo 8.68@160

I like Imports cause they make a shit load of MPH, Muscle cars have great acceleration but no top end, at least carburated motors, the new EFI motors with power adders have good top end but never like an import
