Extra tip: if you use pads rather than real drums for triggering, you can mic the room/speakers to feed a little of the real room sound into the MIDI kit, turn your monitor speakers up to a comfortably loud volume to drive the room some, point a condenser at a nearby wall and crack the mic gain just a smidge, so you don't get feedback.record on an extra track, or two if you can mic in stereo.
