Born in 1950. Samuel DiPiazza holds a dual degree in accounting and economics from the University of Alabama and a Master of Science in tax accounting from the University of Houston.
In 1973, Samuel DiPiazza joined PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and became partner in 1979. He was elected to the firm council in 1986 and headed the Alabama, Birmingham and Chicago offices before being appointed Midwest regional managing partner in 1992 and managing partner of New York Metro Region in 1994. In 1998, he was named Americas Leader for Tax and Legal Services and in 2000, Chairman and senior partner of the U.S. firm. Since 2002, Samuel DiPiazza has held the position of Chief Executive Officer of PricewaterhouseCoopers International Limited.
He serves as a trustee of the International Accounting Standards Committee Foundation, is Chairman of the World Business Council on Sustainable Development and an Executive Committee member of the International Business Council of the World Economic Forum. Samuel DiPiazza is also Chairman of the Audit Committee and a member of the Executive Committee of the World Trade Center Memorial Foundation. He has been honoured as Accountant of the Year by the Beta Alpha Psi Society and is a recipient of the Ellis Island Medal of Honour and the INROADS Leadership Award.
