  • looks like he's been driving it on the roads too much. Tires not very knobby, it looks like...

  • @Imnotsaidaouita This was the maiden voyage with brand new 39.5 Irok's. I made it through going the other way. After finally winching through this I uprooted the tree stump that was hiden under the mud and hanging up on my front axle. IT was the only time my 12k pound winch was almost brought to its knees. My Scout raised up about 3 feet out of the mud as the stump rolled from underneath the axle housings and caught on my tranny crossmember.

  • @1BADSCOUT lol it is a bad scout cuz it has a chevy motor lol just kiddin bud......when you blow this one up or you get sick of it ....build a scout II instead of a late model 60s scout 80 or 800 which ever it is

  • @lindstromjd LOL. I am currenlt building a 1970 SR-2 for my wife. Its not a Scout 2 but has lots of parts from one. rear axle dana 44, all the guts from a dana 44 front(stuffed into narrowed chevy dana 44) leaf springs, p/s box, steering column, rear seat(narrowed), I have had 3 Scout 2's and 5 Scout 1's. Not too mention the 20 plus other Scouts that we have parted out to make the others live. LOL

  • to all who have ripped out the HEART of an INTERNATIONAL SCOUT 304 345 and put in a chevy 350 or ford 351 i truly don't get you ppl ....here this if INTERNATIONAL wanted to put a 350 or 351 in them THEN THEY WOULD HAVE

  • @lindstromjd Also with the TBI 350's the torque they can put out when modified is amazing. IH engine are tough as hell. 345's and 392's make decent power and have there place. For me though the engines themselves are getting hard to find and even harder to get them to perform without breaking the bank. To keep my Scouts running for the next 40 years I need to be flexible and choose drivetrain that will still have parts available.

  • IH scouts are one of the coolest vehicles in my book they just look sweet and have just uber amounts of power.

  • @1BADSCOUT

345 sorry lol not 234 haha my bad

  • @1BADSCOUT

ya you of a sum wat good point i guess yet my 1st scout was a 72 234 3 spd auto w a 4 in lfit w 33 maxis mudders and guess wat my 3 buddys each had a 70s blazer and a 70s bronco and the other one had a Heep yes a Jeep and i had to pull ALL of them out while they were stuck it 4 high ....AND I WAS STILL IN 2wd and i pulled them out no problem

  • @lindstromjd In my case it was a 152 IH 4 cylinder. Not really a "power house" I am one of the few people who can understand both sides of the notorious IH engine debate. I get alot of hate mail because I use fuel injected 350 chevy's in most of the Scouts I build. For me I choose them because I get the biggest bang for my $. If I was doing a complete stock restoration. Hell ya I would use a IH engine. But for what I do I can not build a IH engine that has fuel injection, winds to 7K rpms
