Jimi sings better but SRV plays better imho. But they are right next to eachother in talent, it's just that SRV just makes it sound better and controlled. He just seems to harness it, hard to explain. The guys are the best, put Jimi in 1989 and Stevie in 1969 and they'd both probably be just as big as eachother. They could play, and boy could they dress lol. Guitar gods.

I prefer Les Pauls too but this is hilarious. I'm sure Hendrix and Stevie Ray both played Les Pauls before settling on their Stratocasters. Strats have more sounds (5 vs. 3) and a whammy bar -- that's why they chose them. Your premise -- that they would have sounded better playing a Les Paul -- is ridiculous. Different, but not necessarily better.

Ha, no, But could you imagine how good he would have sounded on a gibson les paul? You know his notes were all there, so much better than hendrix, and i mean my god if Hendrix had played a les paul? That would have been fire.
