My alarm started going off at 5am. I put my hand over it as I crawled out of bed. I threw on my volleyball clothes, got in my car and drove to school. I just turned 16 at the beginning of my sophmore year, and it was so relaxing not to convince my parents to drive me everywhere I went every second of the day. They bought me a car, of course. Well sort of. They gave me the credit card and told me to pick out what I want. I got a navy blue mustang. Practice went by, and it sucked. I love playing more then anything, but not when Im not the star of the show. I was missing passes, hitting everything out, and missing serves. It was awful. My coach pulled me to the side afterward.
"Are you okay? I mean you seem like youre on cloud nine." Cloud nine? I didnt think I was Then I thought about yesterday with Joe. It was so much fun, and so relaxing. I felt a smile come to my face. "Good night with David?" She asked. My smile immediately faded, and I looked down. I knew I would be in huge trouble with David. I simply nodded and walked away. I showered quickly and got ready not caring what I was wearing. I threw on a V-neck white tshirt and pink sweatpants with white flip flops. I didnt bother with makeup and put my hair in a bun. I put on some serious coverup before I left this morning, to cover up the bruises and cuts on my face from the day before. I walked through the halls, and made it to my locker. I got all my stuff organized, and got my books for my next class. As I closed my locker I saw a face staring at me.
"Hi." I said lowly. David looked at me disgusted. "What are you wearing..?" I sighed. I was a little kid getting ready to be scolded. "I don't know." I whispered. "Im so fucking done with you, Alexis. What are you doing going around with other guys?! I heard you missed practice to go out with that Jonas. You wont even think about missing it for me! Im your fucking boyfriend! Youre loyal TO ME!" People were around, and they heard, but most people are used to our fights. You cant go three days in out school without hearing David screaming at me for something. It was kind of annoying that no one would try to stop him, but I guess when hes that big and strong, its just not going to happen. He gripped my wrist and pulled me along the hallway. He took me outside to a deserted picnic table area that people only go to during lunch. David pressed his forehead to mine and looked me directly in the eyes. "How are you gonna make it up to me?" I gulped. At this moment I wish Joe would be the hero that he wants to be so badly. I wish he would just show up. But I guess he cant save me every time. "I dont know." I whispered. He kissed me hard and forced his tongue down my throat. He felt me pushing him away, so he stopped and looked at me. "Hey, whats your problem?!"I looked down. "Nothing, its just." Come on build up the courage. Tell him you dont love him. Tell him it's over between you! "I'm just tired, that's all." Coward. Coward. Coward. "Okay, baby." He slid his hand into mine and walked me back into the building.
The week passed by slowly. Joe and I started meeting a lot after school to just talk and hang out. We became really good friends, and I think hes grown to really care about me. Hes always making sure David hasnt done anything bad or gone too far or anything. Hes finally starting to understand why I cant break up with David, in fact, I think he sort of agrees with me now. David has been decent. A couple times he found out that I was hanging out with Joe instead of him, and he got.. Really mad. Lets just say it didnt go down so well.
BZZZZ. BZZZZ. I heard my cell phone alarm clock waking me up, and I slowly rolled over to turn it off. My moms too lazy to wake me up in the morning, and my dad wont even wake up this early. I rolled out of bed and went to my closet. I picked out a green tank top with blue jean shorts and white flips flops. I left my hair down and wavy, and added smoky eye makeup. I walked down the stairs to see my mom reading the newspaper. "Hey mom." She ignored me. I sighed and walked over to the pantry to get a cereal bar for breakfast. I looked inside at the microwave that had the date and time on it. November 15. Sounds familiar Oh, thats right. Its my birthday! How could I forget my own birthday? I didnt even realize it was coming up. I guess I wasnt the only person who forgot I looked over at my mom who was doing the same things she does any other morning. I mean, sure, my parents dont pay much attention to me, and they dont always act like they care very much. But theyve never failed to at least give me a measly happy birthday when I wake up in the morning I guess things have changed. "Im going to school." I said to my mom. Again, no answer. I walked out the door and saw an old beat up car waiting for me. I knew it was Joes the moment I saw it.

David sucks a bunch. He needs to get over himself already. So sad that she can't stand up to him. Understandable but sad.
And I'm glad her and Joe are getting closer. :D I hope Joe kisses her on her birthday.

Wow, Her parents really really suck! How can they forget her bday and like how can her mother just ignore her like that?
It's a good thing she has Joe. I have a feeling he'll remember it!
