I believe this was the season where Ralph finally found the instruction manual for the suit...
-
"Simon and Simon" had a different intro for its first season with a different theme song.
-
Carrol O'Connor hated the 'Gloria' show because the family dog was named Archie...All In The Family jumped the shark when the Meathead and Gloria moved out of the house..Should have ended then..Archie Bunker's Place was terrible...

Loved "Simon & Simon"! It ran from 1981-1989. Jameson Parker was yummy.

@TVonthePorch It was a disaster because Carrol O'Connor salary meant that it had to finish even BETTER than that to make a profit. Everyone wants to blame networks, but they are not in business to lose money on shows that are unprofitable. If you want to blame someone, blamne O'Connor whose salary 30 years ago rivaled that is the Friend's cast just 10 years ago.

The best thing about the 80's shows were the theme songs. What ever happened to shows having a good theme song.

I remember Simon and Simon, Chips, Cagney and Lacey, Happy Days, Greatest American Hero,

Aside from Gloria, Cagney and Lacey, and The New Odd Couple, every other show I remember watching from 1982 when I was 9. I miss the old shows so much that I don't even bother watching network TV unless it is on DVD.
It is not about being family oriented or wholesome, but just written well. The common thread of these past shows was that the stories made you think without trying to shock you and felt real. Most shows these days try to wow you with action or are written for simpletons.
Disaster? It ran for an entire season and finished the season as the #19 show on the air. That's a hit by just about any standard. But CBS had, for whatever reason, had enough of Archie Bunker at that point...and apparently of his little goil as well and axed them both.

Didn't it just prove that Michael was a Meathead after all? :-)
