A tribute to Klaus Fischer

Klaus Fischer (27 December 1949, Kreuzstraßl) made 535 Bundesliga appearances for TSV 1860 Munich, FC Schalke 04, 1. FC Köln and VfL Bochum. With Schalke 04 he won the German Cup in 1972. In 1976 he was top scorer in the Bundesliga. With 268 goals he ranks second to Gerd Müller in the list of all-time top Bundesliga goalscorers. In 1988 Fischer's club side VfL Bochum made it to the German Cup Final, but Fischer did not feature in the final match. Klaus Fischer ended his career in 1988. His 182 league goals for Schalke 04 remain a club record. He made 45 appearances for the Germany national football team from 1977 to 1982 and scored 32 goals. He appeared in two World Cups and was a World Cup runner-up in Spain in 1982.

Klaus Fischer, war einer der besten Torjäger in seiner Zeit.Und ist heute noch

ein spitzen repräsentant für seinen Verein - S04 .Er wird meiner meinung nach

bei uns in Deutschland viel zu wenig gewürdigt.Aber so ist es nun einmal! "denn wer

einmal lügt dem glaubt man nicht auch wenn er stets die wahrheit spricht."

I remember having Klaus Fisher shinpads because he'd made such an impression at the 78 World Cup finals.

Klaus Fischer was involved in the german "scandal" of the premier soccer league. The players took 2300 Deutschmark for losing a game. (about the money Ronaldo would work today 1 minute for^^). So because of this Fischer had his 1st appearance in the national team only with 28 years - otherwise he surely would have made 100 games in the team. A goal of Fischer was selected "goal of the century".
