  • Wow! That looks like a gym I used to play volleyball in about 20 minuts from Kadina AFB on Okinawa. :P

  • It's the Budokan in Okinawa :-)

  • that is a very good example that a Kata (poomse, tao, etc, etc) is not a stupid choreography used only to pass exams and win tournaments, is a method for learning combat skills, that can be used in true fights...all martial arts practitioners have to learn, study and understand their forms, in order to improve their fight skills

  • så fedt at se danskerne gøre noget stort indenfor karate :D

  • Chase up IRKRS/Koryu-uchinadi. It's one of Sensei McCarthy's drills - see the link to his channel below!

Good luck. If you look into it, you won't be disappointed!

  • What a great demonstration of Bunkai! Your karate is very strong as is your use of the kata. Osu!

  • A refreshingly different and far less robotic approach to bunkai. Oh, and hi Torben, how are you! The last time i saw Patrick was Okinawa 1991. Is the The Onoyama Stadium?

  • I do like their firm bodies, but why are they so aggressive at the end?

  • Great drill. Aside from the full nelson bit, my bunkai for kururunfa is different, but I enjoyed this interpretation.

  • Excellent drill and performance.

  • great drill,love it,thanks for posting it!

  • Torben san, nice to see you running my drill in Okinawa. It looks as if it was well received. Congratulations to you.
