Dedicated to my brother Tony for our time spent together solving.

Introduction:
Charlie Blast, is a hard working, low pants wearing guy, who seems to have some expertise in demolition. His main activities are looking from side to side, thumping his fists on top of each other and scratching his back side. The games only story comes from the instruction manual, in describing the characters. None of the other characters are used or even mentioned except once at the end of the game when they run from a really big bomb, or in the multi player mode. There's a evil guy named "King of Industry.", a henchman named "Hench-Troll", Charlie and his girlfriend "Rainbow Fairy". Charlie spent $23.00 or 50.000 Euro, in the Europe instructions, it also lists the "Characters" (USA version) as "Clowns and Heros", (European instructions in German and French section only). A pre-production title for this game was listed by Official Nintendo Magazine issue number 72, page 118, as being "Charlie Blast's Challenge", IGN.com also confirms this.
The best version of the story isn't even found in the instructions or on the box, but in reviews, and previews. Amazon.com's B00000IXFV "Manufacturer Description" is the best there seems to be. It mentions the King building island dams, on 6 rivers, around the Rainbow Valley Lake. These dams are making power so the King can continue his "pollution spewing empire". The instruction booklet then takes over the story, a bit. Saying that his girlfriend didn't like his idea of going to Demolition school. And he takes on the King to prove himself to her. Then we go back to the Amazon.com description again. When destroying the island dams, it clears the "life-giving water", and once again allowing the rivers to flow. (This "Manufacturer Description" has both the game's finished title and it's pre-production title.)
None of which is told or even needed in the Puzzle Mode of the game. The passwords for levels 21, 31, 41,51, will work in the multi player area also, the final password at the end of the game however will only work in the multi player area allowing up to 15 multi player areas to be played, or these 15 areas the player is presented with a different board for the number of player's participating in the battle. All together with the 2, 3 and four player versions of these, there are 45 multiplayer boards. Blow up the other players or simply paint the most squares in these multi player areas to win.
The puzzle mode is basically a modified version of the game "Bombuzal" or using the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) title "Ka-Blooey" is a game with a mixture of "Bomberman" and "Adventures of Lolo", games for the NES. It was also released on the Playstation starring Kemco's 'Kid Clown' in "The Bombing Islands" with many of the same puzzles, but without the jump feature, added to that version is a step counter which can earn the player gold medals for using the fewest steps, and a 'Help' feature that shows you how to beat the level, although not always with the fewest number of steps. If you like this game you might also enjoy Lolo, and Bomberman, and even "Rubik's Games" for PC. Which was my 1st walkthrough. Remember think before you act, it could save a life. We begin this walkthrough by looking at the game's box. First you'll notice that the title doesn't have a apostrophe after his name, it reads "Charlie Blasts Territory", also in the game he doesn't have a heart with the word "MOM" on his arm. And in the game if you look close it looks like he has a mouseache that curls up over his cheeks much like Waluigi would later have in Mario Tennis. (This is probably meant to be the shadow of his hat.) There is a naval mine next to him that isn't in the game, and we also don't get to see the actual dynamite sticks in the TNT crates. But you can actually see tools behind him in his belt.
Despite the destructive elements of the game the it was officially given a 'E' rating in the USA and a "3+" rating in Europe, on it's packaging. For those interested in the N64 item numbers, they are NUS-NCBE-USA and NUS-NCBP-EUR. The game is Rumble Pak compatible for the vibration of the explosions, and Multiplayer area can only be entered if two or more controllers are inserted. The puzzle part of the game is 1 player only. The first half of the back cover's introduction sentence is a reference to the opening lyrics of the song "Tutti Frutti" by Little Richard.
