A collection of photos from Kate's life. Kate started out life headed towards a career in Search and Rescue, however, ended up being bred with the Truro Police K-9, "Ben".
After going through the puppy process, we never entered the training again.
In the end, she became a dedicated "family" pet. She had roles as a Police Dog in a number of films including Trailer Park Boys and The Hunt for the BTK Killer.
The decision was made on Nov 20, 2007 to end her fight with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia as her lymph nodes became impacted, and, there were no further options available.

Why do these make me cry every time? I've grown up with GSDs for most of my life. I will pass from this world with them next to me. Some would be glad to tear up a car seat or 2 with your beloved Kate and Tank. Here is to the GSD bond we share and to my own King, Queeny, Rex, Major, and Angle who have passed and to my living Gunny and Thor.

Watching your movie took my memories about my Shepherd (1992-2006)... as I cried that day, I cried today watching your movie. As someone mentioned - it is so hard when the dog dies. Why they can't live as long as humans do? It's so unfair...
It took me over year to make my mind and now I have next Shepherd. He's today almost three years old... he's so strong, courageous, attached, devoted... on my channel you'll find some movies with him.

Its really hard to believe that it's 2 years since Kate left us... But, it is... What I'm more surprised at is that this video has been downloaded 18,508 times as of today.
I miss you girl! And thanks for watching over Heidi and I!

Kate's son Tank went to join her on 2009-05-29. Tank was the other shepherd in some of the slides.

shit i have to cry! i lost my beloved gsd 'Xam' a week ago becouse of fuckin hip dysplasia. he was 10 years old and go along with me over half of my own life. i hope i've made him a worth living life!! miss u teddy :'(

Sorry to hear... Its hard to loose a dog, but, then there's always a new one to look forward to. I learnt so much with Kate, and, I've now learnt so much more with Heidi. Dogs are sent to help you learn and develop. Each one will help you develop something new. Best of Luck. While I hated to hear it, each day will get easier. The feelings of sorrow will slow ebb away to memories of joy.
