Anthony Thomas and Tracy Askew seek to recover damages from their landlords, Vincent and Ann Piazza, resulting from the collapse of a ceiling in their apartment.
I think that the defendent had problems with the apartment and she may have complained too much for him.To think that you want to evict someone when you get the majority of the rent any way means they were not worth the trouble for him. But I think that the woman did try to play tit for tat but did not have enough sense to wet the book weeks before coming to court so that the pages were crumpled. She should have paid her $163 rent. Wish somone would pay 70% of my rent!
I sense that the mother orchestrated the entire scam but convinced her son to file as the plaintiff because...A) he might garner more empathy or sympathy from the judge (struggling young college student)..and B) she probably has a 'history' of legal scams that can be traced through the judicial system records. No doubt she has also used her chid's/children's names for other bill scamming i.e. utilities and such!
Surely if an entire ceiling collapsed, you'd take PROPER photos and then not "accidently" leave it on "another phone"
I mean wow.

0:52 Why the hell is the judge so surprised she said nothing about her son's behaviour? She's probably the one who taught him that.
