I assume you have the reverse lockout to assure you don't damage the motors?
I have an idea, instead of a lockout, why not try a code, when you go into reverse, to stop the motor voltage for a quarter second or so, then reverse. instead of the voltage instantly switching.
So you can reverse at higher speeds.
It's just an idea, iv'e got some electronics knowledge, but no coding, not sure how all that works, but i wouldn't see how that would be to hard.
