if you want to drive on electric only you must go under 40mph, anything over it goes to gas...i hear the chevy volt you can go up to 60 mph before the switch when it comes out in 11'.

You have to take into account that the Prius is a larger car then the ones you are comparing it to.

Sorry, was looking at the 2010. So the 2009 prius is $35,300 and the 2009 yaris is $31,100 for the True Cost from Edmunds.
