Georgia Abbott, Director and Owner of The Children' School of Music (TCSOMusic) in Midland, MI talks about the Early Childhood Music programs available at TCSOMusic for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. She explains the learning process, the underpinnings of the programs, and the importance of the development of musicianship in young children. At The Children's School of Music, children will learn rhythm, solfege singing and keyboard fundamentals. Mostly, they will learn how to have fun with music. Along with many hand instruments, the piano is the base instrument used to begin to teach music to toddlers and preschoolers. Non-walking babies as early as 6 months old can benefit from our program, and the school has even had students and baby siblings in our classes as early as the age of 6 weeks old. The method of instruction used by TCSOMusic is based on Jan Keyser's Harmony Road method and has been adapted uniquely by The Children's School of Music to teach very young children.
