next time cab it to the free hotel and stock up on pillows and soap and light bulbs, basically anything not bolted down. then that'll offset for your cab. plus there was probably free food. I never would have turned down a free hotel, I would have walked if need be.

I will not fly even if they pay me to do it I can drive from Louisiana to Ca in less than 30 house straight and I have no business there but that is just an example. Do this put a hammock in your carry on they weigh less than 2lbs and you just need somewhere to secure your line look in my favorites I have video of RAY MEARS teaching you how to tie hammock knots. Good news here you only need to learn 3 knots to tie and they are pretty easy to do you can learn them in minutes.

@blkfrhwk It was United, but it wasn't really their fault. There wasn't really anything they could do about the plane, and after that the employees did what they could to help. Just bad luck really.
