my new Aoyue 2900 unit has the same problem! :( when I set a temperature greater than 400°C the unit beeps 5 times and "uuu" message is displayed !! The unit is new and also the tip.. somebody solved the problem ?

My brother that owns the 2702 has that problem also. His is not only beeping but stops heating until you push the tip toward its handle. He ended up using his good old Weller and the Aoyue only for the hot air. He bought it 260 EUR. I bought the 852A+ from the same seller for 100 EUR. I does the same thing considering that the 2702 soldering iron is useless. 2702 doesn't worth the price difference.

First try to clean contacts in heating element. Temperature is oxidizeing it and thats why it's not working. Sorry for my english ;)

UUU and 3 beeps means error with heating element. You should change the soldering tip (it has integrated element).

Hmmm both of my Aoyue 2900 units seems to have this same bug. It just starts beeping, and the temp reading drops really low. Then it goes back to normal in a few seconds. Its probably either a heater bug, or a temp sensor bug.
