  • Tnx a lot for posting. You are the best, thanks to you I''ve heard several songs of frankie I''ve never heard before.

PS:There was a song I've heard once. It was definitely Frankie Laine , I searched for it but was not able to find it. The text was almost identical to Johnny Cash's "I Got Stripes". Never I Found information about Frankie singing the song but I am sure it was him when I heard it. If anyone knows about it it will be you.

  • @TheLang0lier Yes, I know the song you are talking about, The song is titled "On A Monday" It is from his 1960 album "Balladeer". It came out right after Johnny Cash's "I Got Strips". Johnny was always singing about being in Prison and I think this is basically the same song with the wording changed so that he doesn't say he's in prison but leaves it up to the lisener to assume it. In the next few days I'll put it on You Tube.

  • The perfect type of song for Frankie's voice. I found this on a 78 only a few years ago and really enjoy it. Cheers, Ernie

  • @rileyjeffs Ernie, you like everything, but I agree with you no one else could do a song like this except Frankie.

  • @markalson1938 It will be great. Tnx again. This is one of Frankie's songs I've heard some time ago on an old tape recorder but was not able to find it on the net.

  • @JubalCalif Glad you liked it. Great voice.

  • @petereuropa

You were right, peter! I just listened to this song for the first time and it's a real knockout! The late great Mr Laine really knew how to sing a ballad; love his exuburant gusto! MANY thanks for telling me about this treasure of a tune! :-)

  • I have heard many Frankie Laine's songs but this was is totally unknown to me. It is a typical Frankie Laine song. Thanks for sharing.

  • In Sweden the other side of the single was : Strange Lady in Town - I remember that because I loved this song. From this song I registred the information yesterday on Wikipedia with info this song: Mulligan Stew (read about it). I was curious about the word Mulligan. I play golf. Now I know that story too
