No offense meant Bridges, It's just that Pedro--for better or worse--is a complete and separate entity and consciousness then anywhere on the other side of the hill in the actual South Bay.
Absolutely True....Pedro is more like a "Hybrid" of San Bernadino and O.C.

For your information: San Pedro is not in "the South Bay".

Sorry if I offended. I was using the phrase The South Bay in sensu lato rather than sensu stricto.

My mom worked in the fish canneries on Terminal Island (I rode on the ferry to TI before the Vincent Thomas Bridge was built), my grandmother worked in a refinery in Long Beach, my step-grandfather worked in the navy ship yards in Long Beach, and my dad spent a few days in the old jail on top of the old San Pedro city hall so even though I did not grow up there, I spent a lot of time down in that part of the world. I even road the merry go round at The Pike.
