It's a pity that the older and better version of the London Royal Garden Nutcracker ballet isn't there anymore, it had that little extra verve of a battle, but ok. This scene is of course the highlight, but in any version the part from after the battle (6:00) onwards becomes more than a bit corny and any modern version should try hard to remove this cornyness. (its hard not to become corny with E.T.A.Hoffmann, I agree) Apart all my constructive critic this interpretation sure is one of the best.

I've seen the Nutcracker ever since I was 5 years old. It just never gets old. When the christmas tree begins to grow I still get the chills.

@Quackers123456789 I saw that,the SF production has hardly any dancing until the mice come in-its tedious.I think that the Royal Ballet do a great job,I think the viewers of the Ovation channel thought so too as they voted this one to be the best.
