Who do you think is better John Williams or Hans Zimmer?

my opinion, Williams is better.

Hands down, John Williams. Imagine Indiana Jones without the music, or Jaws. Now imagine Pirates or Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 without the music. Which one seems more incomplete? Definitely the last two.

That's not even a question. Zimmer is a good composer, one of the best, but this is not worth the comparisation. John Williams is a legend, the best there is. It's like comparing a Twilight book to Shakespeare.

Absolutely. It's a miracle that - in times of opinion making and forced lifestyles - such emotional and brilliant music is well known, beloved and successful. John Williams is anything but "trendy". I guess he simply is such a genius that noone cares about people who criticize him (too commercial blah blah blah). Yes: John Williams is the best! Not one singe note ever that dones't sound AMAZING!

It's amazing how well JW sync'd the live music with the video. Even with a click track his timing is incredible. Very cool!

Please let me explain (I do not intend to sound like I'm lecturing): John Williams conducts to streamers and punches (vertival lines and dots on a monitor). The streamers prepare and the dots mark the so-called hit points. So the conducting is done by fine-adjusting the tempo in real time by pure intuition and experience. John Williams is known to be an absolute master of condcting a huge orchestra perfectly in sync with picture.

It's because the music + the films are combined with specific personal experiences we all have. It moves our brains back to the past...memories...
