US Prisons Isolate HIV Positive Inmates

Two personal stories from the South Carolina prison system reveal the barbaric treatment of HIV positive inmates. The ACLU found that isolation of HIV positive prisoners is systemic discrimination.

I don't think this is barbaric. There's alot of rape in prison, and isolating HIV positive people helps prevent other people from being infected.

The solution is to increase the quality of life in prisons and the quality of security so that rape doesn't occur. If that can be done, then it will be safe to allow HIV positive people into the general prison population. Otherwise, for the safety of other prisoners, HIV positive people will have to be made to live together.
