too bad it's an accord. you need to get a power programmer and headers and exhaust, otherwise the intake actually can lower hp because your air/fuel ratio isn't tuned to dump more fuel in to match the new amount of intake. Go back to stock if you want performance, stay with the cai if you want sound, but going for the latter would be rice

as of right now the intake it does improve over stock, the K24 totally different from the old Accord. From a 2.4 i will upgrade to 2.6 with new piston and many other mods. Hondata will be great to change air to fuel ratio and top rpm.

Having colder air to get in the intake its better, because colder air means more oxygen molecules to get in to the combustion chamber" making a a better emnn combustion? lol so thats why its better to have a cold air intake ;)

is depend on some car also, for example AEM made short ram for TSX only becuase it produce more power then cold air.
