That region is full of unspeakable suffering, for decades. Through it all, there is a very special group of courageous and dedicated people that many are not aware of.

Wild baby gorillas increasingly at risk from poachers, say authorities at Virunga National Park in the DR Congo..."It's very likely the mother and other gorillas were killed, because it's very difficult to take a baby gorilla from its family," says the rescuer of Shamavu the gorilla, Tuesday'. "The poachers will never admit to this since that would bring stiffer penalties.

It's my hope that the rangers have full authority to shoot to kill poachers. I can't think of a better deterrent.
