  • @frizstyler,Err..,No,Sir not d'Military ones.Only under-privy children from homes(orphanages) & indiginous people get freebie rides in both our commercial 777s,747-400s,A300/330s,military C-130s & Jolly Greens(respectivly of course),d'latter usually being EvaC for cut-offed rural indiginous in flood intervention air-support or rescue.D'military's stuff R usually off-limits 2 gen.public, except only during airshows,it's a wonder how 1 chap claimed 2've flown backseat in our F18,who authorised that

  • @beaggyboy yeah almost all acraft have them. the jet counterpart is reverse thrust. you are right, they feather them during flight to be more efficient.

so you've flied in millitary aircraft? lucky

  • @frizstyler,Tnx A million Sir,4 d'heads-up.Yea,now that U've enlightened me,I now recollect seeing this reverse motion executed b4 back when I'ws little, tho l cant precisely place if it'ws a C130,C160 or sum Russo makes"Cub/Antheus".I also recall reading an article on nautical/hydro mechanical propulsion of ship/subs,There'wre 2 systems,d'direction-alternating blades(pitch)wic shaft rotates in only Cwise, being d'mor effectiv than d'reverse gear-shaft one, guess d' former is of similar principle.

  • @beaggyboy it's called prop feathering and variable pitch propellers

  • @beaggyboy some prop-planes have propeller pitch adujustment. you can reverse their blades' pitch in order to go backwards or decelerate during landing. that's most probably what twin otter features

  • Amazing!,never thought prop-planes can actually go on reverse. Is there a switch-over gear shift/lever for the process?cuz I did not even catch the blades goin limp for even a second b4 resuming power delivery. Can some- one explain, cuz l'm not too familiar with prop-planes especially with this my first encounter of one going reverse.

  • Wow. I just love the Twin Otter. Must be very proficient water pilots flying these, the way they use reverse thrust out of the jetty and spin it around on a dime. Amazing.

  • @Kanoee64 Reversethrust
